Fat Face launches new premium range for men and women this October
This October, Fat Face launches its first premium line The Fat Face British Heritage Collection. Featuring luxurious but practical outerwear and cosy knits for men and women, this stylish collection has been designed with the Great British Outdoors in mind.
Using deluxe fabrics and exquisite British craftsmanship, the British Heritage Collection is a celebration of our great outdoors, both rural and coastal. Designed by husband and wife Dean and Lisa Batty, who have their own label Cro’Jack, the collection features vintage military inspired styling, fisherman’s knits and functional waxed cotton jackets and capes keeping you looking good whatever the weather. Waxing dates back to over a century ago when sailors rubbed linseed oil on canvas made from old sails to keep out the bitter wind and sea spray. The British Millerain fabric used is still a wax cotton canvas conceived from traditoinal sail cloth, dyed and impregnated with a blend of oils and waxes to give it water repellent properties and a unique feel to the touch.
Men have a choice of two cool jackets to keep them warm and dr ywhile out in the elements. The four pocket waxed Captain Jacket, created when Dean took apart an old American M. 1943 uniform and a British Second World war jacket, is produced in a 6oz British Millerain Wax Cotton, lined with soft moleskin - its tough and durable but cosy. The hooded Shackleton jacket, available in two earthy tones khaki or olive, is in a washable waxed cotton with moleskin lining, so it can be worn again and again on rain and mud soaked adventures. Keeping out the winter chills are the Whitby Fisherman’s Shawl and Plymouth Crew sweaters plus scarves in charcoal and linen chunky lamb’s wool knit.
Ladies can discover the rugged yet elegantly shaped Darcy Wax Jacket, in chestnut with corduroy trims, lined with soft red plaid moleskin for extra warmth. The hooded Dorothy Duffel Jacket in cream or old navy, with striped lining, boasts feminine cute with an old-school twist. Layer up minis or coloured skinnies and boots, with the lightweight hooded Raleigh Cape. Available in sand, charcoal and green, the cape is lined in moelskin keeping you cosy and comfortable whilst looking chic, whatever nature htrows at you. Stay warm with the chunky angora and lambs wool mix Beaulieu Jumper with crew neck, available in linen, charcoal, orange and blue or the Camebr Cardi in blue or light grey. The cosy Skye scarves in linen, charcoal, blue or orange
keep you “stylish yet snug while exploring the great outdoors,or enjoying a warm beer and some British humour down the pub,” says Dean.
The Fat Face British Heritage Collection will be available in 15 selected Fat Face stores nationwide from 19th October 2011.
