Christopher Raeburn partners with the Museum of London for London Fashion Week Presentation Spring / Summer 2012
Friday 16th September sees a top British talent and London landmark partner for one evening, as the Museum of London hosts Christopher Raeburn’s Spring / Summer 2012 presentation at London Fashion Week. Marking the Museum’s inaugural fashion event, Christopher and his team will be taking over their Sackler Hall and Linbury Gallery for an innovative creative exhibition and collection presentation.
Known for re-appropriating vintage garments, Raeburn’s shared historical enthusiasm has inspired a natural and ongoing relationship, “the Museum of
London is an incredible venue that is a bit of a hidden gem within the city; and so there’s something really exciting in doing something completely new” comments Raeburn, “their archives hold an outstanding wealth of fashion and social history”.
“We’re very excited to working with Christopher and his team on this one of a kind show. We’re delighted to host his vibrant designs as part of our support for London’s cultural history” comments Elizabeth James, Head of Hospitality. The exhibition will reflect the complete colour spectrum featured in the SS12 collection, along with an innovative interactive experience for visitors “we’ll be exploring how touch, sight and sound interact. Tactile textiles & tactual tones would be the best way to describe it for the moment.”
SS12 marks an evolution, the collection broadened for both men’s and women’s. Crafted with a renewed focus on functionality, signature outerwear styles will be showcased alongside ready to wear apparel, the latest progression in Raeburn’s phenomenal career.
