In an exciting new venture, Clarks is pleased to announce a collaboration with fashion and retail expert Mary Portas to create an exclusive collection of women’s shoes for Autumn/Winter 2011. The ‘Mary & Clarks’ collection enhances Clarks’ established reputation for creating iconic styles that deliver exceptional standards of craftsmanship, quality and wearability.
Clarks were delighted to be asked by Mary to translate her vision into a fashion-led footwear collection that reflects their design ethos while placing style at its heart. ‘We’ve created a collection with real fashion credentials that doesn’t compromise on comfort’ says Mellissa Potter, UK Operations Managing Director for Clarks.
For Mary, Clarks are the only footwear brand with the heritage and skills necessary to deliver her vision of chic, on-trend shoes and boots designed with a modern woman’s busy lifestyle in mind. “It has long been a fantasy of mine to collaborate with Clarks” she says. “To me, Clarks’ shoes represent the best practice of British design, quality and comfort at an affordable price. When the opportunity arose to create a fashion collection with Clarks aimed at stylish modern women, I couldn’t wait to get started.”
A limited edition collection consisting of 25 lines across nine styles, ‘Mary & Clarks’ includes - La Portas, an edgy black ankle boot wedge; La Wesley, a super-chic platform court; La Magdalene, a sexy satin evening sandal and La Stuart, the perfect stack heeled 70’s inspired knee high boot. The range comes in neutral bright colours and fabrics with seasonal highlights that for AW11 include pops of hot pink, teal and dark oxblood. Importantly, says Mary, “the Clarks Softwear technology is utilized which means you can wear a high heel that looks painful to wear, but shhhh! its secretly easy to walk in all day long.”
Packaged in their own specially designed, luxury shoe box, ‘Mary & Clarks’ will be exclusively available in Clarks’ stores across the UK, online at clarks.com and House of Fraser Oxford Street.
