Topshop and Topman to open flagship in Chicago


Arcadia owned Topshop/Topman opens the second flagship in the U.S., bringing both brand’s joint style authority and brave trend-setting approach to fashion to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. Topshop/Topman Chicago will boast the same selection of trenddriven pieces, specialized collaborations and bespoke services that both brands have become known for. With covetable collections available to the price-conscious consumer, Topshop/Topman have long had their legions of followers, and as British highstreet style champions, remain a favourite amongst industry insiders alike.

Located at 830 North Michigan Avenue, set within previous home of the iconic Border’s, Topshop/Topman Chicago will be similarly designed in the spirit of London’s iconic Oxford Circus store. The fascade will change to allow for triple height glass frontage and feature bespoke brand graphics, to create impact and open up the storefront for incoming shoppers. The interior will be outfitted with a modern and sleek décor, including brushed steel against black and white, lacquer finishes, suspended glass fixtures, super slick walls and stark white tiled floors. Escalators have been moved to the back of the store, and a quadruple height void has been created, opening up the heart of the store. A balcony will run around the double height ceiling space on Topman / 2nd floor and will showcase joint campaign graphics and also house a DJ booth.
Topshop/Topman have both become known for their DJ program in store, working with a range of talented artists, providing an exciting atmosphere for customers.

TOPSHOP

Set across the cellar and first floor, Topshop will showcase Unique, the directional collection presented at London Fashion Week, along with exclusive designer collaborations with many of New Gen’s young talent, as well as the extensive trenddriven mainline. There will be 100 Chicago exclusives for the opening, including styles that are Chicago-themed and a Topshop Makeup exclusive nail color called Windy City!

The store will host the Boutique area, featuring 20 premium exclusives across formal trousers, skirts, jackets, bags, as well as 20 exclusive options across knitwear, jersey and blouses. Casual jackets and puffy jackets will be available in bold brights, exclusive to Chicago. Topshop Dress Up will offer 2 exclusive styles and dresses will have 8 stand-out pieces. An impressive denim range by MOTO, a vast shoe lounge, and a breadth of lingerie, Petite, Tall and Maternity will be also available. What’s more, accessories and concessions to compliment will be merchandised throughout both floors. Boasting 30 changing rooms and a VIP suite on the first floor, all are constructed with maximum comfort and shopping ease in mind.

TOPMAN

All of Topman’s latest trends will be housed within a slick, stylish space with a distinct modern British feel providing a true shopping destination for the consumer. It will take over the top / 2nd floor and will showcase all of Topman’s collections including Topman Design, its much lauded London Fashion Week catwalk show collection and the extremely popular Topman Ltd collection which delivers timeless classic pieces to the
more discerning customer. Topman have also created some exclusive limited edition pieces to ark the arrival of Topman in Chicago including some very special suiting and outerwear. The ceiling which has been opened up over the central floor, highlights a specially designed showcase area which will feature a dramatic stop-and-stare changing trend space. Part of the ceiling forms a mirrored union jack flag while up above the main space runs a balcony highlighting key seasonal graphics from both brands as well as a DJ booth.
