Superdoll Collectibles signs to Forward PR for its AW 2011 Couture Exhibit

Established in 1999, London’s Superdoll Collectibles designs and creates The Sybarites - high-end fashion dolls, sought out and collected, and unlike any doll you’ve ever seen before. Their autumn/winter offering, Scarlet Ribbon Affair, takes place from the 20th through to the 22nd of October, 2011 and includes a private preview for press on the 20th of October, at Blackall Studios.

The new collection titled Social Monstrosities, is the latest couture outing for The Sybarites. For the uninitiated, these resin dolls stand at a mere seventeen inches high, however, their miniature world makes a huge statement by blending extreme fashion with fine art and biting social commentary.

The past few years have seen annual collections exhibited internationally in Paris, Moscow and Tokyo, and the 20th of October 2011 marks The Sybarites’ return home to London. Their exquisite detail and hedonistic luxury has built an avid following and this is a rare chance for media to sneak a peek at these otherworldly beings before they disappear into private collections worldwide.

October 20th will see The Sybarites in all of their couture glory in an event where the exquisite dolls will soak up pure gluttony in a very eccentric and intricate 1:4.5 scale installation. Collectors from all over the world will be flying in for the unveiling and this is the first time that media are invited to experience the underground world of these haute fashion dolls. This is also the first time that Superdoll Collectibles will be lifting their strict ‘no-photography’ policy and allowing media to capture the dolls on film. On Saturday the 22nd of October media are again invited to review Social Monstrosities, meet collectors and also the creators.

The world’s most celebrated fashion doll company is based right in London and these meticulously detailed dolls, The Sybarites, are the work of artists Charles Fegen and Desmond Lingard. Both trained in fashion and worked for a who’s who of high fashion and couture brands before combining their creative and technical skills with their passion for art and dolls. Their work has received farreaching international recognition including numerous American ‘Industry’s Choice’ awards and the coveted ‘Doll of The Year’ award, as well as the ‘Bright Young Stars of Moscow’ award, which was presented to Charles and Desmond at the Kremlin. Superdoll Collectibles was recently commissioned to create the much-publicised Beth Ditto doll for her line of clothing in conjunction with Evans.
