Enterprising mum launches Premier Shoes For Girls

Mum designs first back-to-school ballet shoes girls can wear every day

Daughter’s back problems inspire mum to launch new range of stylish shoes for girls

An enterprising mum has launched the first ‘back-to-school ballet shoes’ that teenage girls can wear every day.

Teresa O’Driscoll took the bold step after her 17-year-old daughter developed back problems from wearing ballet shoes to school without realising the damage they were causing.

Today, Teresa launches her Premier Shoes For Girls and her website www.itsgotsoul.co.uk which is already proving a hit with both parents and teenagers alike.

The Premier Shoes For Girls range features ranges called Fonteyn, Giselle and Markova, all based on the ever popular ballet shoe but with a hard-wearing, comfortable twist!

Designed by Teresa with the help of podiatry experts from Northampton University, her shoes feature world-beating soles and are safe to wear every day.

The Premier Shoes for Girls are priced at £60.00 and new styles will be added over the next few months.

French Sole collaborates with the Royal Academy of Arts

French Sole launch new 'Degas' Collection

French Sole have created a unique, limited edition collection of their famous 'ballet inspired' footwear in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Arts and the forthcoming Degas and the Ballet: Picturing Movement exhibition.

With a lifelong love of the ballet and the work of Degas, designer Jane Winkworth has taken particular inspiration from Degas' Little Dancer Aged Fourteen, with an image of the little dancer embossed on the mirrored silver soles of the shoes and adorning each shoebox, produced specially for this remarkable collection.

Jane's personal background as an artist and painter is reflected in the collection, aiding her to capture the impressionist's colour palette in each design. Pale peach, cobalt blue, sea green, sepia and ballet slipper pink, help to recreate the chalky pastel tones of his work. Her choice of decorative embellishments echo the sense of theatrical drama associated with the Victorian Paris Opera House scenes as illustrated in Degas' work.
